  1. This book looks like a very good book to read before doing any masonry work. unit masonry is widely used to construct small and large structures as you know. This type of construction needs a lot of research for the best results. I usually recommend looking at the McGraw-Hill website for information. I am employed by them, but I can honestly say I have never seen a more useful directory full of top quality information. You can even download CAD details from their site.
